slice trigger and looper

 Hi everyone,
I'm an absolute newb at using max and am putting in a lot of time trying to understand other peoples patches and learning the way things work. One of my primary reasons for interest in this is to accomplish the following....and I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has suggestions on somewhere this may even already exist.
I have long been on the search for a plugin that can do two things to an audio buffer via MIDI: 1) trigger individual slices, 2) allow me to select loop points.
The first part is the most important at the moment and I know it is possible with chucker but haven't figured out how to trigger cycle offsets or anything yet. "Mind Shuffler" seems to do a lot of these things, but am having a hard time understanding how that one works due to the integration with the other items in the suite. The second part is even further beyond my abilities, and will come with time.
Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Or else I'm off to the drawing board to try and develop/modify this myself.
Take care all,
Marc

you could take a look at s4racens Isotonik patch he hosts on maxforlive.com
i think the slicing functionality he implemented using a chucker object may be exactly that what you are looking for

Chucker is definitely the way forwards for slicing, use the maximum number of steps so that you give yourself a low possible resolution of slice.....In my device you want p chucker (double click on the r ---chucker and it'll highlight where the controls are coming from....

Marc, did you get anywhere with this? I've been trying to make the same kind of thing. I'm also a relative newbie...

D, what's your device? I'd love to have a look at it.

The device is located on maxforlive site which hosts various devices

Here is the direct link:

As a sidenote, the patch is not being developed anymore, if you want to check out the new template, go to http://thestudiosessions.co.uk/

Apart from many more groundbreaking features (like the slicing functionality), it has improved performance and much, much more!
