I'm already familiar with entirely textual coding, as I've done enough "real" programming and web development through the years. I'd like to program in Max/MSP and MaxForLive in Xcode, because I feel like I can get my ideas out faster in an IDE I already know about. I don't know much about how to configure Xcode, however, and I was wondering if anyone here has had experience using the MaxForLive framework (if there even is one, I assume so because the rest of the Max APIs have a Mac OS Framework), and how to effectively link your apps to it.
Has anyone had any experience with MaxMSP or MFL development in Xcode? Do you prefer Xcode or the Max5 IDE?
is it possible to create M4L patches in Xcode?

Max is a visual programming language that really does not conform to any of the defined standards. As such, it could not be used in something like xcode easily. It does have some textual representation, but it would be hard to program in the text. You can, however, program with JS, Python, LUA, etc.. and use it within Max and therefore M4L.
